    Prof. ZHANG Bing Elevated to IEEE Fellow

    According to a recent announcement released by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a total of 282 people across the world have been elevated to IEEE Fellow for the Class of 2020. Prof. ZHANG Bing from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has been elected as a Fellow for his contributions to the research of hyperspectral image acquisition and processing.

    China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station Successfully Receives Data from New Resource Satellite

    China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station (RSGS) has successfully tracked and received data from the resource satellite ZY-1-02D, which was launched at 11:26 on September 12. The Miyun Station of RSGS has successfully tracked and received downlink data of the satellite at 12:22 on September 13. Then, the Kashgar station received the first batch of real-time observation data. The mission lasted about 7 minutes, and all data was well processed.

    During the launching ceremony of Beijing-Guangzhou Coordinated Innovation Center held in Guangzhou on August 28, the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) inaugurated its Greater Bay Area Terahertz Research Center. The center is jointly built by AIR together with local government, aiming to inject impetus to the S&T development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
