2022 marks the second anniversary of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System providing global service. Since its launch, the system has been operating stably, expanding applications and deepening cooperation and has been committed to providing high-quality services to users worldwide, complementing and promoting digital infrastructure in the Belt and Road countries and regions to support the green development of the initiative.

In order to promote the sharing of methods, technologies and cases of big data and digital technology in support of sustainable development, 2022 International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (FBAS 2022) will be held in a hybrid format in September, 2022. The Forum will not only provide a global high-level academic communication platform on the use of technology facilitation mechanism to achieve the SDGs, but also help to serve the relevant United Nations agencies and Member States to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) is launching a pilot call for expressions of interest (EOI) from organizations that are active in big data and sustainable development, and interested in partnering with CBAS to serve the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and make joint efforts to promote, advance, and realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) around the globe.

The 5th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Workshop, hosted by National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC), organized by GEO Secretariat, AOGEO, and the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), will take place online during June 15-17, 2022.

Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academy of Science of South Africa, Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Sciences, and Indian National Science Academy will co-host the BRICS Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development, aiming to share innovative achievements and useful experiences and gather international consensus on big data to support sustainable development.
