The 6th AOGEO Workshop was held in Macau, China from May 29-31, 2023, hosted by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), China GEO Secretariat, National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC), and co-organized by the Aerospace Information Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), the University of Macau (UM).

The Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) Program has stepped into the second phase which will last for 10 years, according to a cooperative agreement signed on May 11 in Paris.

The International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) held a side event to the eighth annual Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (“STI forum”) on May 2nd, 2023, in support of sustainable development in the post-epidemic era with big earth data at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Prof. Guo Huadong, Director General of the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS), was invited to the Host Country Plenary Session of the Forum organized by the National Bureau of Statistics of China on April 25 and gave a presentation titled “Harnessing Big Earth Data to Achieve the SDGs”. He was also appointed to China's National Expert Advisory Committee on Statistics in an appointment ceremony afterwards.

Held in Beijing from April 26 to 28, the 13th China Satellite Navigation Conference (CSNC) placed its focus on promoting the high-quality construction, application, and development of China’s BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS).

Two years has passed since the Project “China-ASEAN Big Earth Data Platform and Pilot Services (CADA)” was initiated in 2021. A mid-term meeting was held on Feb. 20 to wrap up the research progress as well as discuss the work plan of 2023. The two-day event was attended by more than 50 research scientists and experts.
