A workshop was held at the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on October 31 to discuss the progress of the "Zambezi River Basin Land Dynamics and Driving Mechanisms" project. The event was attended by some 20 experts from CAS, the University of Zimbabwe, the University of Zambia, and the Catholic University of Mozambique.

Prof. Huang Wenjiang from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the head of the GEO project "Global Vegetation Pest and Disease Dynamic Remote Sensing Monitoring and Forecasting" (GEO-PDRS), together with his core team member Dr. Liu Linyi, were invited to attend the GEO WEEK 2023 which was held in Cape Town, South Africa from Nov.6 to 10, 2023.

To present the achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) over the past decade and enhance international understanding of its value, China's State Council Information Office released a white paper titled "The Belt and Road Initiative: A Key Pillar of the Global Community of Shared Future" on 10th Oct, 2023. Its objective is to facilitate high-quality cooperation within it, ultimately benefiting more countries and peoples.

On 24 Oct. 2023, Ms. Irina Bokova, the former Director General of UNESCO, and Co-chair of the International Science Council (ISC)’s Global Commission on Science Missions for Sustainability, visited the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS), a center was established to support the achievement of the SDGs. During her visit, Ms. Bokova explored various systems and platforms including the SDG Big Data Platform, its collaborative analysis system, SDG science satellite system, visualization and application system, and SDG data sharing system. Additionally, she was presented with recent projects and progress made by CBAS and its affiliated international organizations and programs.

The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF III) was convened on 18 October 2023 in Beijing. The Beijing Declaration on Digital Belt and Road, issued by the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) together with scholars from 25 countries and regions, has been included in the List of Multilateral Cooperation Deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation as one of the 14 “Deliverables of Non-government Cooperation Platforms”. The document is part of the Chair’s Statement of BRF III and comprises a total of 89 deliverables.

From October 9 to 13, 2023, the " Training workshop on customized CropWatch for Nigeria" was held in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. This event was jointly organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Alliance of International Science Organizations along the Belt and Road (ANSO), the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), and the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).
