The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine convened a virtual public workshop, "Data-Informed Societies Achieving Sustainability: Tasks for the Global Scientific, Engineering,and Medical Communities", on September 9 and 10.

The 2021 International Training Workshop on BeiDou Technologies and Applications in the Belt and Road Countries and Regions was closed in Beijing on September 17, 2021.

From September 6 to 7, 2021, the 5th Digital Belt and Road Conference (DBAR 2021) was successfully held in Beijing. The conference was hosted by the Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR), co-organized by CBAS and the Big Earth Data Science Engineering Program (CASEarth). More than 320 experts from over 50 countries joined this event physically and virtually.

The International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage (HIST) under the Auspices of UNESCO hosted a symposium in Beijing on September 8, 2021, to commemorate its 10th anniversary. In the form of online and on site, the symposium was also part of the 2021 International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals.

The inauguration ceremony of “Belt and Road” BeiDou Application International Training Center was held in Beijing on September 7, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the 2021 International Training Course on BDS Technologies and Applications for “Belt and Road” participating countries.

The opening ceremony of 2021 International Training Workshop on Earth Observation for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries was held synchronously in Beijing of China (on-site) and Kathmandu of Nepal (synchronous online) on July 12, which was co-organized by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
