A delegation from the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), carried out a series of academic exchange activities in Thailand, focusing on technical cooperation and partnership building. The team participated in the 17th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Symposium and visited the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) for in-depth discussions on regional collaboration.

A research team led by Prof. HUANG Wenjiang and Dr. ZHANG Biyao from the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), visited the Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Southampton in the UK from September 19 to 22, 2025. The visit was conducted under the framework of the Sino-UK Crop Pest and Disease Forecasting & Management Joint Laboratory, a CAS-level international research unit.

The Thematic Session on Digital Earth Supporting Sustainable Development convened during the 2025 World Science and Technology Development Forum (WSTDF) in Beijing on Tuesday, bringing together 70 leading figures and representatives from research institutes and universities of 19 countries and relevant UN agencies and international organizations to tackle the problems along niche opportunities brought by emerging science and technology trends, with consensus on the Digital Earth Initiative for the Sustainable Development Goals.

On October 10, Philippe Mauguin, CEO of the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), led a delegation to the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS) in Beijing.

The Fifth International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (FBAS 2025) opened in Beijing on September 6, spotlighting the debut of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) large models designed to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The three-day event brings together more than 700 participants from nearly 50 countries and 17 international organizations to accelerate global cooperation on sustainable development through digital innovation.

A special session on Digital Earth Technologies for Promoting Sustainable Development in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and South Pacific Island Countries (SPIC) was held at the International Science and Technology Organizations Headquarters in Beijing on September 5, 2025.
