Journal of Remote Sensing Included in Engineering Index Compendex Database
March 13, 2024
The Journal of Remote Sensing, a publication hosted by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and co-published in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), achieved a milestone on March 4, 2024. It was indexed in the well-respected international database Engineering Index Compendex (Ei Compendex). This marks another achievement for the journal, which has been indexed in the EI, Web of Science (WOS) Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), CAB Abstracts, SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System, Inspec, CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), and eight other databases.
The journal operates on an open access platform, focusing on publishing cutting-edge, original research from international scientists in the remote sensing field. It also features academic articles addressing key scientific issues in this domain.
Dr. WU Yirong, Director-general of AIR, leads the journal as its Chief Editor. The editorial board composes of 30 renowned experts and scholars in remote sensing and related fields from various countries including China, the United States, France, Canada, Spain, Australia, India, among others.
Launched in 2020, the Journal of Remote Sensing has steadily gained recognition in the academic community. It received its first indexing breakthrough in May 2021 when it was indexed in DOAJ. Subsequently, in October 2023, the journal achieved another milestone by being indexed in the Web of WOS (ESCI), where it was categorized under Earth Science, Remote Sensing, Imaging Science & Photographic Technology, and Environmental Science. Building on this success, the journal expanded its reach further in November 2023 by gaining inclusion in the Scopus database. Most recently, in February 2024, it attained yet another accolade as it was indexed in the Engineering Index (EI) database. These achievements underscore the journal's growing influence and reputation in the field of remote sensing and related disciplines.
