AIR Launches Project to Explore Key Technologies for Field Archaeology from Space and Fieldwork

A National Key R&D Project "Key Technologies for Field Archeology from Space and Fieldwork" was launched in Beijing on January 31, 2021.
The project aims to boost the development of archaeology and cultural heritage protection in China by providing key technologies, online research platform, and provide scientific support that integrating basic theory, technical methods, equipment development, and field applications.
The project is led by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in collaborating with the several domestic research institutes and universities.
As the first national key R&D project for cultural heritage and archaeology, the project is also expected to promote the cross-discipline research in the field.
