AIR，Uzbekspace Agency Ink MOU for Agriculture and Water Resource Monitoring

The Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Uzbekistan's Space Research and Technology Agency, known as Uzbekspace Agency, solidified their commitment to collaboration on harnessing space technology for agriculture monitoring, water monitoring and management by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Beijing on January 16, 2024. The agreement, signed by Prof. WU Yirong, Director-general of AIR, together with his counterpart, Mr. Shukhrat KADIROV, Director-general of Uzbekspace Agency.

From November 29 to December 1, the third International Workshop on Observation and Understanding of Changes in High Mountain and Cold Regions (HiMAC2023) took place in Urumqi, Xinjiang, a vast region characterized by abundant ice and snow and serving as the transitional land zone connecting the Arctic region and the high mountains of Asia.

UN China Delegation Visits CBAS

A delegation consisting seventeen representatives from nine UN entities in China, paid a visit to the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) on November 17, 2023. The visit, jointly organized by the UN Resident Coordinator Office and CBAS, aimed to deepen mutual understanding and foster further collaboration between the UN and CBAS.
