Regional Collaboration Project on Crop Biodiversity Launched in Malaysia

The "Promoting Crop Biodiversity through Innovative Space Applications (CropBio)" project was officially launched in Bintulu, Malaysia on June 5-6, 2024. This project was initiated by the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

AIR,University of the Punjab Sign Cooperation Agreement on Remote Sensing and Ecological Monitoring

On June 3-4, the State Key Laboratory of Remote Sensing Science (SLRSS) from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) signed a cooperation agreement with the Center for Geographical Information System (CGIS), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. This collaboration aims to advance the National Key R&D Program " Integrated remote sensing monitoring of ecosystem over Asia-Oceania hot areas ".

APSCO Training Course Empowers Members to Address Urban Environmental Challenges Through Remote Sensing Technology

From May 27-31, 2024, a specialized training course on "Remote Sensing Information Processing and Urban Applications" took place in Wenchang, Hainan. Organized by the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) and co-organized by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) together with several other institutions, the event aimed to address the global deterioration of urban environments and enhance the capabilities of APSCO Member States in utilizing space technology to tackle these issues.

UNCCD Executive Secretary Visits CBAS to Enhance Cooperation on Sustainable Land Management

On May 24, UN under-secretary-general and executive secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), led a delegation to visit the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS). The delegation toured the Sustainable Development Big Data Platform, engaging in deep discussions on leveraging digital technology to support sustainable development goals (SDGs)and exploring avenues for institutional collaboration.
