From September 3 to 5, 2024, the 16th AOGEO Symposium was held in Tokyo, Japan, focusing on Earth Intelligence within the Asia-Oceania region, its application, and promoting global equity. The symposium aimed to contribute to the Post-2025 GEO Implementation Plan.

Sirimanne, Head of the Secretariat of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD), also Director of the Division on Science, Technology and Logistics of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and Zhang Liping, Chief of the Science, Technology and Innovation for its Development Section, visited the Key Laboratory of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth at the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

Professor Huang Wenjiang Assists UAE in Red Palm Weevil Monitoring and Control
From August 27 to September 1, 2024, Professor HUANG Wenjiang from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIRI) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) participated in field experiments for the FAO Red Palm Weevil Project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as an international consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This invitation was extended by FAO and the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA). During his time in the UAE, Professor Huang also engaged in academic exchanges.

The "Regional Capacity Building Workshop on Geospatial Applications for Crop Biodiversity" was held in Mangshi, Yunnan Province on August 21-23, 2024. The workshop was co-hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), with the field demonstration supported by Yunnan University.

HIST, UNOSAT Forge Partnership for World Heritage Conservation

The agreement was formalized during the Fourth Space Observation Forum for Sustainable Development organized by the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS), signaling an advancement in the use of space technology for the protection of World Heritage sites.
