2023 International Training Workshop on BeiDou Technologies and Applications Opens in Beijing

The opening ceremony of the 2023 International Training Workshop on BeiDou Technologies and Applications in the Belt and Road Countries and Regions was unveiled in Beijing on September 12, 2023, attended by nearly 30 students from Yemen, Algeria, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Cameroon, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Pakistan, etc.
Under the theme of “Technologies and Innovating Applications of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System”, this training workshop is co-hosted by the Aerospace Information Research Institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academic Exchange Center of China Satellite Navigation Office and “Belt and Road” International Training Center of BeiDou Applications, and co-organized by Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization under Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Since the BDS-3 system was put into use three years ago, BDS has collaborated with Belt and Road countries to expand its technologies, products and services to more application fields at a global scale and in diversified ways.
During the two-week workshop, students will learn the development, application and industrialization, as well as the integrated innovation and development of the BeiDou System through lectures, on-site visits and interactions, with a special Chinese Culture Tour.
This year is also the 6th year that the Workshop has been held to promote exchanges and cooperation between China and the countries on BDS technologies and applications, bringing BeiDou system to more Belt and Road countries and beyond.
Since its inception in 2017, the International Training Workshop on BeiDou Technologies and Applications in the Belt and Road Countries and Regions has trained more than one thousand students from over 50 Belt and Road countries and regions, facilitating Belt and Road countries.
