August 27, 2022

The Third Conference on Remote Sensing of Vegetation Pests and Diseases was held online from 27 to 28 August, 2022. With the theme of "Protecting Vegetation, Guarding Security", this year's conference was broadcast live online through various platforms and channels, bringing more than 400,000 audiences.

The conference aims to promoting in-depth application of remote sensing technology in intelligent plant protection, disaster detection and ecological security, exploring technological innovation in the field of vegetation pest and disease monitoring, forecasting, prevention and control, promoting theoretical innovation and industrial application of remote sensing for vegetation pests and diseases, building ecological civilization, promoting the harmonious coexistence of human and nature, and building a community of life on earth.

Hosted by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the event was attended by more than 50 organizations. More than 40 experts from China and aboard research agencies gave wonderful academic presentations.

The conference covered a wide range of fields such as remote sensing, plant protection, ecology, environment, meteorology, artificial intelligence and ethics of science and technology, involving topics such as biodiversity conservation, green prevention and control of pests and diseases, ecological and environmental safety assessment in the fields of agriculture, forestry and grass industry.

It focused on the key applications of remote sensing technology in monitoring, forecasting and prevention and control of vegetation pests and diseases, and discussed in depth the latest research results and future development trends in various aspects such as theory, models, methods, systems, and applications.
