First Editorial Board Meeting of Journal of Remote Sensing Held in Zhuhai

The Journal of Remote Sensing (JRS) hosted by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), held its first Editorial Board meeting in Zhuhai, Guangdong province on December 4, 2020 to mark the establishment of its Editorial Board.
The meeting was presided over by CAS academician WU Yirong, the Editor-in-Chief, together with Prof. LIU Liangyun, Executive Editor-in-Chief. The meeting was held both online and offline, and was attended by some 20 people.
Prof. Wu, also Director-General of AIR, delivered an opening speech, saying that JRS aims to be a high-quality international journal with a high starting point. As a partner journal of Science, JRS has achieved a good platform for its global promotion, he added.
The Editorial Board comprises 30 members, and the team will expand in the future, he said. He also suggested that the Editorial Board meeting should be held annually to discuss the problems and challenges for journal’s running and to make suggestions for its progress.
