AIR Hosts Year-end Seminar for International Talents
The Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held a year-end seminar for foreign scholars and students on December 10, 2024. Organized by the institute's International Cooperation Office, the event aimed to foster communication, celebrate the achievements of international researchers, and promote innovative collaboration through engaging activities.
The seminar welcomed participants from over 10 countries, including Pakistan, Iran, Italy, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Malta. Attendees included scholars and postdoctoral researchers supported by the CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI), as well as international students. Through thematic presentations, interactive discussions, and collaborative team activities, participants fostered mutual understanding.
At the seminar, the International Cooperation Office presented an overview of AIR’s core research activities and international collaboration initiatives. They also highlighted the support AIR offers to foreign personnel. This information provided valuable guidance to the participants and reaffirmed AIR’s commitment to fostering a globally inclusive academic environment.
The international scholars and students shared their academic backgrounds, research aspirations, and experiences in China. Their stories showcased a rich diversity of perspectives and a shared passion for collaboration. Interactive games and team-building activities—such as decorating frosted cookies—further promoted creativity and teamwork, while fostering meaningful connections among participants.
In the group discussion session, participants actively contributed ideas to enhance AIR’s support and management of international researchers. Their suggestions were collected and shared as part of AIR's ongoing efforts to create an inclusive and productive environment for global talent. The event concluded with a group photo and a symbolic gesture where participants wrote New Year wishes and recommendations for AIR on a "Suggestion Tree."
The seminar served as an engaging platform for cross-cultural exchange while highlighting AIR's commitment to promoting international collaboration and innovation. It also celebrated diversity and fostered academic dialogue among AIR's international scholars and students.
