UN China Delegation Visits CBAS

A delegation consisting of seventeen representatives from nine UN entities in China, paid a visit to the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) on November 17, 2023. The visit, jointly organized by the UN Resident Coordinator Office and CBAS, aimed to deepen mutual understanding and foster further collaboration between the UN and CBAS.

The delegation was received by Prof. Guo Huadong, CBAS Director General, who stressed CBAS’ longstanding commitment to extensive collaboration with various international organizations. Since its inauguration, CBAS has actively engaged in profound regional and global cooperation in the areas of data acquisition, analysis, and management.
 
The UN 2030 Agenda has passed the midpoint. In the meeting discussion, the two parties acknowledged the vital role of data in monitoring SDG progress at regional and global levels. Both sides demonstrated interest and willingness to enhance collaboration on harnessing data in accelerating the attainment of SDGs, through capacity building, technical exchanges, and resource sharing.
