Sino-Mongolian Exchange Project Launched to Promote Applications of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System
An international exchange project was launched to promote the application of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) between China and Mongolia, which was announced on September 8, 2020 at a video conference attended by some 10 participants from both countries including XU Guanqun from the China Association for Science and Technology, HAO Weina from the Academic Exchange Center of China Satellite Navigation Office, HOU Yan from the NavInfo Co., Ltd, as well as Mongolian counterpart, Dr. B. Bayartungalag, President of Mongolian Geospatial Association.
During the conference, HAO Weina, Director of Academic Exchange Center of China Satellite Navigation Office delivered a welcome speech and made a general introduction to project in terms of project background, undertakers and the progress of the project.
According to the schedule, the 2020 International Training Workshop on BDS Technology and Applications in Countries along the Belt and Road & Sino-Mongolian Training Workshop on BDS Applications Technology will be held in September and the Sino-Mongolian Bilateral International Workshop on Navigation and Positioning Applications will be held in November and meanwhile a Sino-Mongolian MoU will be signed.
Both sides held in-depth discussion on such topics as the project progress, online and offline activities and further Sino-Mongolian cooperation.
The Project, as part of the 2020 projects designed by the China Association for Sicence and Technology to build international S&T platforms for countries along the Belt and Road, also serves as a platform to promote international cooperation and applications of BDS.
