AIR Holds AOGEOSS Workshop in Hindu Kush Himalayan

From September 17 to 21, the Hindu Kush Himalayan Workshop of Asia-Oceania GEOSS (Global Earth Observation System of Systems) Initiative was held in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal.

The workshop was sponsored by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and its China Secretariat, and was jointly organized by AIRCAS and International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).

This was second such workshop organized by AIRCAS with the objective to promote the development of Asia-Oceania GEOSS. It was attended by more than 30 participants from different countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Burma, India, Bhutan and Mongolia.  

Focusing on regional agriculture and disaster monitoring, the workshop promoted the understanding of remote sensing data processing and its application in agriculture and disaster monitoring.
